If you want to put an event on the Bangla Proshar Committee events calendar that you or your organisation is arranging, just send us an e-mail or contact us with the relevant info and contact details and we'll be happy to post it here.
And yes, you don't have to be in NSW exclusively to post here.
Who are we?
Swagotom, we - Bangla Prosar Committee - plan to make this site a veritable source of information and enjoyment for Bangla speaking people of the world, especially the Bengalees living in Australia.
Our emphasis will always be on the next generation as the Bangla Prosar Committee's raison d'etre is to ensure that Bangla is available to them as a language to learn so that they have the option to explore the vast amount of splendid literary, musical and cinematic works that already exists in Bangla and -who knows - maybe add to them!
If you are curious about how 'Bangla Prosar Committee' is pronounced in Bangla, just hover your cursor over the Committee's logo on left.
Meet the writers, columnists and artists in Australia emanating from the Bengalee diaspora who have been contributing regularly either in
Australia or in Bangladesh.
While some of the writers are writing in Bangla, some have chosen to write in English.
Some of our readers have also kindly sent us their excellent literary and artistic works. Here is a brief list:
Send us your work if want them to be published on the Prosar Committee site.

Fun Stuff
Bangla Palindrome
Thought of a good palindrome in Bangla lately?
See if you can beat our current record holder.
The current record is for Rama Kanta Kamar - a name in Bangla. Just roll your mouse over the name below if you want to hear how it is pronounced.
Adnan Hossain, a young reader of our site from Canberra, has sent us an excellent entry - Nidhuram Randhuni (which means Nidhuram the cook) - which is a phonetic palindrome.
Well done Adnan and thank you for your entry, we are publishing it here with a voice rollover for other young friends to hear how it is pronounced.
Longest Bangla word
The Bangla language, with its capacity to form composite words, can sometimes have words which can be fun and a bit of a mouthful.
Can you think of an unhyphenated Bangla word which is very long?
The current record, which is shown below - just roll your mouse over it to hear how it is pronounced, is for a word which means someone who has a knack for accidentally getting surprising things happen - both good and bad surprises - a bit like a serendipitous person gone a bit haywire.
